 Just a quick February update. Tickets are on sale for the May 14th Matt Zeiner show at Infinity Hall in Norfolk Ct. There is a link on the calendar page if you wish to buy tickets for this show. We are very excited! The calendar is filling up very quickly so keep an eye out for more dates with all the bands I play with. Thats all for now, be good kids. Dennis Happy New Year everyone. Lots of cool stuff happening this year. The Matt Zeiner Band is taking off full flight now, even though the drum chair is a revolving door at this point. Hopefully we can get someone permanently in that role but at the same time it is a pleasure having so many great drummers at our disposal. Everything else is pretty much the same....Mike Rau and I still working on our Cd, The Mayocks still working on their new CD....the odd Spookie show. I really have a good outlook on the coming year musically. Be sure to check the calendar, more dates being added all the time! I also added a couple new pages to the website to change things up a bit....check em out! They aren't all finished but will be very soon. Thats all for now, be good kids. Dennis I feel kinda dumb having not written any updates here in two months. I have been up to a lot musically and should have been updating here more, but that's the catch....more gigs = less time on the computer! The Matt Zeiner Band is almost ready for liftoff on December 12th 2009 at Sullys Pub in Hartford. We have been working extremely hard rehearsing, rearranging, and writing altogether new material for the months ahead. Sadly,we did lose Bill Carbone as our permanent drummer due to scheduling conflicts, but we are happy to say we have Greg Vasso (Max Creek, Depth Quartet) joining us in his place. Overall this experience has been one of the most musically rewarding things I have ever been a part of. I hope to see you out on December 12th at Sully's for the big debut! Thats all for now, be good kids. Dennis Here's a fall update for those who actually take the time to catch up on what I'm up to. Lots of cool things going on, nothing TOO new, but those things are moving along nicely. The Matt Zeiner Band is coming together really nicely. So far the lineup is Matt, myself, Ray Morant (Ray and the Monsters, Soul Tsunami) joining me on guitar, and Bill Carbone on drums (Melvin Sparks, Peter Prince, etc). It is certainly one of the most challenging and fulfilling bands I've ever played with for sure. We are still working hard so no dates in the books yet, I will let you know. Also, Dr. Juice is gonna play again on October 10th, as a trio with Mike Rau, Joe O'Brien, and myself as Julee is on tour with Arlo Guthrie. Should be fun to dust off the cobwebs once more. The Cd with Mike Rau is still going well, just takes time to mix it all down with a once a week schedule. Thats all for now, be good kids. Dennis Been quite a while since any news has been slapped on here, so here goes. Lots of cool stuff happening, including the SONG posted on the website under my picture, sort of a teaser of the upcoming CD with Mike Rau and I. We also have a page on Reverbnation and Facebook gaining some momentum, so look for us on there. Also noteworthy is a project with local keyboard legend Matt Zeiner. It looks like its gonna be an organ trio with lots of space to play, with an R&B and jazz feel, though who really knows as we haven't actually played yet! I am currently learning lots of songs for the project. Keep an eye out in September for some dates. Thats all for now, be good kids. Dennis Hello, just dropping in with a few updates. For starters, all of the Mayocks shows at Freskos in Avon have been CANCELLED due to the venue closing it's doors. Seems the economy has claimed another music supporting club in Ct. Will it ever end? Be on the lookout for some new venues to replace that one. Also there will be some Thursdays at Papacelle's in Simsbury, keep your eyes out for those as well as they will be posted soon. Dr. Juice has begun it's first rehearsals in about four years for the Benefit for Nikki Gilbert on July 10th at Sullys. I'm happy to report that the old magic is still there, and everyone sounds great and is doing great! Finally, all CD projects are still moving forward, not backward, which I guess is good. Thats all for now, be good kids. Dennis Hello everyone, been a while so it's time for some updates, daddy-hood kinda took over for the month of April. May and June will see me back on the road with Spookie Daly Pride, as well as back in the swing of things musically overall. Mayocks new record is almost done, the record with Mike Rau almost done, FINALLY. Also, we are in the process of organizing a Dr. Juice reunion for a benefit for one of our biggest fans Nikki Gilbert who is suffering from cancer. This will most likely take place in July. This will also be a huge welcome to Joe O'brien back to life as we know it, and should be a very cool time I am looking forward to very much. Thats all for now, be good kids. Dennis Hello everyone here's a little update. I took down the site, as well as my myspace, Facebook, etc out of sheer frustration with the music business. With a little hindsight I realized that the economy is to blame and that people haven't stopped caring at all. It is frustrating sending out flyers, emails, bulletins, etc and nobody shows up, I just let it get the best of me....but I'm better now. This month don't miss Shortness on Sunday March 15th. This could be our last one so don't miss it. We are running out of steam and morale due to attendance at shows so we are thinking of wrapping it up. Hello all! I hope you are all keeping yourselves warm in the midst of this NASTY winter! Things are slowly picking up and there are some really cool shows coming up. First, don't miss out on the Mayocks first ever show at 12 Crane Street in Southbridge Mass. on Friday Feb.7th! This is supposed to be a cool room and we are also recording the show and making a video to boot! Come on out and make some NOISE for the camera! The new Mayocks record is coming along nicely and we have already begun pre production and photo sessions for the album and a remake of the Mayocks website is on the way. Visit www.themayocks.com often to keep up with the progress. I would also like to give a shout out to my old friend and new amp tech/guitar tech/effects guru Dave Parsons. Dave is doing some cool mods to some of my pedals and we are toying with the idea of a custom amp for the future. I found a pretty cool way to add some content here without adding any more pages, so now I can post some updates on what's going on, besides what you see on the calendar. Things are slow on the gig front but hopefully people will dig out of the snow and financial woes and come out and see some shows in the coming months. I am still recording the CD with Mike Rau, we are making headway after the holidays and are on the home stretch. Hey it's only been 2.5 years right? I am also in the studio with the Mayocks recording their fourth album due out hopefully later this year. Also this month I will be returning to the studio with Spaghetti Cake for another EP. In between all that, be sure not to miss the upcoming Shortness show and Mayocks shows. I am on leave from Spookie Daly Pride for most of the winter, but will have other shows pop up with Mike Rau and anyone else who will have me. Hope to see you out there soon! Dennis |
